Governor Training
Cooper Barton Ltd offers bespoke training for your governing board, or for school clusters by arrangement. Training sessions are designed to develop the key skills and knowledge necessary for effective governance. The sessions can be delivered in-school at a time and date convenient to your governing board or cluster.

Governance Reviews
For governing boards that require more in-depth support, we offer External Reviews of Governance based on the framework provided by the National College for Teaching and Leadership at the following levels:
(a) Governance health check
The purpose of a health check is to work with a governing board to determine whether it is operating efficiently and effectively. We will work with your governors to determine the board’s key priorities and deliver an interactive self-review workshop.
(b) External review of governance
We will review your governance practice through consultation, reviewing documentation and facilitating a self-review session for the governing board. A report will be compiled, making recommendations for strengthening governance.
(c) Enhanced external review of governance
An external review with additional follow-up support built in to further support the governing board in implementing the review’s recommendations.
